You Carry a Lot. You Don’t Have to Carry it Alone.
Confidential therapy for cops and first responders who don’t want it tied to the job.
Work in law enforcement or first responder roles and are used to handling high-stress situations
Feel like they are always “on,” even off the clock
Struggle to talk about what’s going on with people who don’t understand the job
Notice stress showing up in sleep, mood, or relationships
Are used to being the one others rely on and don’t often have a place to put their own stuff.
Prefer a space that is completely separate from their department or workplace
For those who…
My approach:

How I Work
Meet Harley
Meet Harley
Harley Whitley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Addictions Counselor with a background in crisis response and forensic social work.
She earned her Master of Social Work from MSU Denver in 2022 and has spent her career working alongside law enforcement in high-pressure environments. Harley began as a co-responder within multiple police departments across Colorado and currently works in the Department of Corrections as a Parole Behavioral Health Clinician, collaborating closely with parole officers and individuals re-entering the community.
Her experience is rooted in real-world, high-acuity situations- not just theory.
Harley has developed a deep understanding of the culture, expectations, and challenges that come with law enforcement and first responder roles. She is familiar with the language, the mindset, and the stigma surrounding mental health within these professions.
You won’t have to explain your job here. She already understands it.
Her approach is grounded, direct, and focused on helping you work through whatever you may be carrying- whether that’s stress, trauma, or the cumulative impact of the job over time.
Working Together
Working together is straight-forward, confidential, and focused on what actually matters.
This is a space where you don’t have to explain your job, filter what you say, or overthink how it’s coming across. We focus on what’s going on for you and work through it in a way that makes sense, and keep things practical.
The sections to the right outline what I help with, what to expect, and how to get started.
-
I work with individuals in law enforcement and first responder roles who are navigating the ongoing impact of high-stress environments.
Common areas we focus on include:
Trauma and critical incident stress
Chronic stress and burnout
Difficulty sleeping or shutting your mind off
Substance use and unhealthy coping patterns
Anxiety, irritability, or feeling constantly on edge
Relationship issues
Cumulative impact of the job stress overtime
You don’t need a specific label or diagnosis to start… Just a sense that something feels off or harder than it should be.
-
Sessions are one-on-one, private, and focused on what’s actually going on for you.
My approach is direct and practical. We’ll cut through the noise, talk through what you’ve experienced, and work towards solutions that feel realistic and useful in your day-to-day life.
You won’t need to explain the basics of your job or the culture- you can come in and get straight to what matters.

Yes. This population is my primary focus. I specialize in working with law enforcement and first responders because the stress, culture, and experiences are different from the general population. I also enjoy working alongside law enforcement and I appreciate their unique positioning in society. If you are not in that field, I may not be the best fit and that’s okay! I’d rather you find someone who truly gets your world.
-
No. Your therapy is completely confidential. I do not report back to departments, supervisors, or agencies. The only exceptions are standard legal limits of confidentiality (like risk of harm to yourself or others), which we will go over before we start.
-
That is more common than you think! You don’t have to come in ready to open up or spill everything right away. We go at your pace. Even just showing up is a solid starting point.
-
No. This is a private pay practice. That means your care stays between you and me, without insurance companies being involved in your treatment or records. This also allows flexibility in allowing for as many sessions as you want!
-
Sessions are $175 for 50 minutes. Payment is due at the time of services and I accept secure electronic payment options.
-
The first session is more of a conversation than an interrogation. We will talk about what’s been going on, what brought you in, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. No pressure to share more than you’re ready for though!
-
That varies from person to person. Some people come in for a few months, others stay longer. We will figure out what makes sense for you. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all plan!
-
Nope! You are in control of what you share and when. Building trust and rapport will come first and usually the rest follows. I like to tell clients that it usually takes about 6 sessions before comfort and trust start to establish. For some it may be sooner, others it may be later. That’s okay!
